A full-wave bridge rectifier circuit makes use of both halves of the AC cycle, but unlike the full-wave centre-tap rectifier circuit it does not require:
- Adiodes across each leg of the transformer
- Ba centre-tapped secondary on the transformer
- Cany output filtering
- Da centre-tapped primary on the transformer
Correct answer: B — a centre-tapped secondary on the transformer. From the official ISED question bank, verified word for word.
Why
A full-wave bridge rectifier uses four diodes to steer current from both halves of the AC cycle without needing a special wire connection in the middle of the transformer's output coil. The full explanation — and one for every question — is in Pro.
